Switzerland's Caroline Steffen, who gave birth to young Xander last December, took the win over Australia's Annabel Luxford and New Zealand's Hannah Wells at Ironman 70.3 Sunshine Coast. Steffen, who lives in Australia now, also won the race in 2014 and 2015.

Tim Reed relived his big win at the 70.3 worlds by taking the men's race over the age-less Craig Alexander. The two were neck and neck through the swim and the bike, but Reed pulled clear on the run and never looked back. Making the podium an all-Aussie affair, David Mainwaring took third.
