Set on the spectacular south coast of Sardinia, the sixth edition of Challenge Forte-Village is both an outstanding bucket-list event and an excellent opportunity for the perfect race-cation to end your triathlon season. The race takes place at one of the world's leading resorts, Forte Village, with a choice of five five-star hotels, three four-start hotels along with 11 luxury villas. There are 21 different restaurants to choose from, too, ensuring an amazing gourmet experience to go along with the beautiful accommodations.

Challenge Forte-Village Sardinia is renowned for its excellent organization and attention to detail, all helping athletes get through a tough course that takes in the spectacular scenery.

It comes as no surprise that the event regularly attracts a top-level pro field and numerous VIP competitors - last year Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee highlighted the pro field, while other big names who participated included Mario Cipollini, Davide Cassani and Alex Zanardi.

In addition to the half-distance race held on Sunday morning, there are lots of other events for family and friends to take in as well. Saturday morning there's a sprint-distance race and later in the afternoon there's a duathlon race for kids. (Last year 200 kids between the ages of 6 and 15 took part in the event.)

The half-distance race includes both individual and relay races. While that race is going on there's also a women's only TRYTOTRI race that's a great first-time race for those who want to give triathlon a try.

Registration for Challenge Forte-Village Sardinia is open until October 10. You can find out more about the race at
