Ryf and Böcherer rip things up in Rapperswil

For the sixth year in a row Daniela Ryf wins takes Ironman 70.3 Switzerland, while Andreas Böcherer topped a strong field in Rapperswil.

Daniela Ryf once again proved that she is unstoppable in Rapperswil. Her record at Ironman 70.3 Switzerland: six wins in six starts. Finishing in 4:08:34 hours, the Swiss champion danced across the finish line. American Skye Moench finished second, 7:05 later, while Svenja Thoes completed the podium for the women in 4:23:43.

In the men's race, Andreas Böcherer put on a real show of strength and won the race in 3:48:30 hours. It was Böcherer's second win in Rapperswil, where he won in 2011. But the German certainly had some stiff competition - Spain's Pablo Danepa Gonzalez finished just a minute behind to take second. Sven Riederer rounded out the podium in his last middle-distance race in 3:50:57 hours.
