Patrick Lange says he wants to help give back to the sport that has given him so much, which is why he'll be racing at "The Finals - Berlin 2019" over the sprint distance (750 m swim, 20 km bike and 5 km run).

"I am delighted to be part of the premiere of 'The Finals', a major sporting event that has never happened in Germany, and to do my part, hopefully showing many spectators what a great sport triathlon is," Lange said in a press release.

The race in Berlin serves as the German championship and is the fourth and final competition of the First Triathlon Bundesliga, the German team championship. Lange will wear the colors of his longtime club, DSW Darmstadt.

"I'm looking forward to the German Championship and to be able to do a race in the Triathlon Bundesliga after many years," Lange said. "The Bundesliga played an important role in my development to becoming the Ironman world champion."
