It's been a fun year for Jan Frodeno out on the roads so far - earlier this year he had some issues on the bike while training in Australia and just had a high-speed crash while gearing up for the Ironman European Championship in Frankfurt.

Frodeno escaped the crash with a very black eye, a deep cut and some bruises, but managed to avoid any "serious injuries," according to the Frodeno camp. He had almost made it home when he slipped on a corner. On his Facebook page, the 2015 and 2016 Ironman world champion was seen in a photo posted shortly after his accident with a smile on his face, which had to be sewn with 10 stitches.

According to Frodeno's management team the accident won't affect his upcoming start in Frankfurt. Whether the injuries will affect his training over the next few days is uncertain.
