Brigitta Poor (HUN), the reigning Xterra European Tour champion, continued her streak as the only women's winner of Xterra Malta last weekend, winning her third straight title at the event held in Golden Bay. Roger Serrano took his second straight men's title at the event.
Serrano led from start to finish, holding off Germany's Maximilian Sasserath and France's Francois Carloni.
Poor trailed swim leader Nicole Walkers out of the water by just over a minute, but had moved to the front by 5 km into the bike. From there she was never really challenged and easily held off Helena Erbenova (CZE) and Walkers to take the win.
This was the first Xterra European Tour event of the year and the seventh global qualifying race for the Xterra World Championship held in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii in October.
