Nearly 1,600 athletes lined for the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Goseong on the shores of Danghangpo this weekend. The race features spectacular scenery that includes a swim in the cool, calm waters surrounded by dramatic mountain ranges, a 90km bike course lined with evergreen trees, rice fields and typical Korean countryside landscape. The day ends with a 21.1km run that includes stunning ocean and mountain views.
There were 23 countries represented at the event. Almost half of the field chose Goseong not only as a destination race, but also as their first opportunity to race the IRONMAN 70.3 distance.
