This week it’s over to stunning Spain for one of the biggest sporting events in the Basque Country, with nearly 2,000 participants from all over the world and a famously enthusiastic crowd of supporters. Set in the provincial park of Landa, competitors and viewers can enjoy the most beautiful landscapes in Alava’s lowland for the swim and cycle legs. The run takes place in Vitoria, named “European Green Capital” in 2012. It is no coincidence that in eight years Vitoria has hosted a world championship, a European championship, two Spanish championships and two Spanish Cups.
