Abre Roux works for South Africa's Triathlon SBR Magazine and was part of a recent press trip to Sri Lanka. A former national-level swimmer in South Africa, Roux has turned his sights to triathlon over the past few years and is gearing up for his first full-distance race at Ironman South Africa next month.
Roux managed to nail himself a qualifying spot for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France later this year with his top finish at Ironman 70.3 Colombo.
We caught up with Roux a few days after his big race in Colombo and look forward to monitoring his progress throughout the rest of the year.
