Featuring a unique semi-final format that requires athletes to complete two sprint races in one weekend, the ITU Tiszaujvaros World Cup offers an entire weekend of exciting racing.

The men’s final saw the Russian Polyanskiy brothers lead the way. They were both part of a pack of nine who took turns leading the way on the bike in the 20-man final. The race was decided on the run, with the Russian brothers outlasting the home-country favorite Tamas Toth for the top two positions on the podium.

Renee Tomlin (USA) led the way out of the swim, then kept things rolling with a small group that included countrywomen Erin Dolan and Lindsey Jerdonek, along with Emma Jeffcoat (AUS) and Spain’s Anna Godoy.

Their lead off the bike wasn’t enough to prevent some of the chase group from reaching the podium after the run – Tomlin hung on for first, while Yuliva Yelistratova (UKR) and Elena Danilova were able to work their way into the medals.
