What a year it has been for Yvonne Van Vlerken - "the smiling blond Dutch girl" has raced up a storm including wins at Challenge Almere and Ironman Barcelona over a two-week stretch (both in sub-9 hour times, too). She also finished at the top of the standings in the Challenge Family European bonus pool, earning herself an extra 25,000 Euros for her efforts. (Check out this interview to find out where she'll be spending the bonus pool cash!)

Van Vlerken finished the season just 10 points ahead of Laura Siddall (GBR) - the top prize was only decided at the last race of the series in Sardinia. Siddall takes home 17,000 Euros for her solid season. Behind her were Sofie Goos (BEL), Heather Wurtele (CAN) and Lucy Charles (GBR).

On the men's side Joe Skipper (GBR) and Lukas Kramer (GER) tied, which gave them each 21,000 Euros. Pieter Heemeryck (BEL) took third, followed by Thomas Steger (AUT) and Jan Raphael (GER).

The prize purse for the series bonus totaled 140,000 Euros.
