Sarah True didn't do her first half-distance race until May when she raced at Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga, but it hasn't taken her long to prove that she has a bright future over the distance. The American Olympian finished fourth at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Chattanooga earlier this month and followed that up with an impressive win at Ironman 70.3 Augusta on the weekend.

True was first out of the water but had some company on the bike in the form of Melanie McQuaid (CAN) - who is fresh off a second ITU World Cross crown - and Cecelia Davis-Hayes (USA). Those three entered T2 within seconds of each other. Gurutze Frades (GER) was 1:23 back off the bike with Alissa Doehla (USA) at 2:09.

Out on the run course there was no touching True, who cruised to the win. Frades and Doehla would both run their way to the podium.

Thomas bikes and runs to the win

Jesse Thomas (USA) routinely trails out of the water and that was the case once again as Andy Potts (USA) led the way out of the water with Australians Kieran Roche and Cameron Good right on his heels. Thomas was 1:36 back and was still 1:04 behind at the end of the bike as Roche entered T2 in first with Americans Potts, Eric Limkemann and Matthew Russell just seconds behind.

Out on the run course, though, there was no stopping Thomas, who was in front by four miles and stayed there to the line. Potts would hang in for second while Roche rounded out the top three.
