The wins at the Challenge Championship moved Lucy Charles (GBR) and Lionel Sanders (CAN) to the top of the current prize money standings put together by the Challenge-Family. Charles sits atop the standings thanks to two big wire-to-wire wins - the Ironman African Championship in South Africa and her successful defense of her title at the Challenge Championship in Samorin, Slovakia.
Teresa Adam's win in Cairns at the Ironman Asia-Pacific Championship moved the Kiwi into a tie with Flora Duffy (BER) for third. Sitting in second in the standings is Ironman Texas (the Ironman North American Championship) Melissa Hauschildt.who is fresh off a win at the Ironman 70.3 European Championship in Elsinore.
Sanders posted a win in Pucon earlier this year, followed that with a runner-up finish to Jan Frodeno at Ironman 70.3 Oceanside, then took the win at Ironman St. George, the Ironman 70.3 North American Championship before taking a thrilling duel over Sebastian Kienle in Samorin.
Two-time WTS champ Mario Mola sits in second in the men's standings, while Terenzo Bozzone's third-place finish in Cairns was enough to put him in third in the money rankings.Texas champ Matt Hanson sits in fourth, while South African champ Kyle Buckingham rounds out the top five.
