New Ironman event announced in Finland

Ironman will put on its first event in Finland next year - Ironman 70.3 Lahti Finland will feature a midnight finish.

Ironman will host its first event in Finland next year. Ironman 70.3 Lahti Finland will take place on June 30, 2018.

Traditionally known as a winter sports venue, Lahti is Finland's eighth largest city, set about 100 km north of the capital, Helsinki.

“We are happy to welcome the Ironman 70.3 Lahti Finland triathlon as it will give us a chance to showcase sports and exercise opportunities available throughout the year," says Lahti's mayor, Jyrki Myllyvirta. "Lahti offers an excellent arena for international competition and we have extensive experience in organizing spectator events that are in-demand."
