Ironman will expand to Sri Lanka in 2018 - Ironman 70.3 Colombo to take place on February 25.

The 2018 Ironman Asia calendar will include a new event in Colombo, Sri Lanka on February 25.
Set in the heart of the capital of Sri Lanka, the race begins with a 1.9 km swim in the Indian Ocean at Galle Face Green Park. The flat, fast three-loop bike course travel's through the city center past the Old Parliament Building and Port of Colombo. The 21.1 km run follows the coastline and returns to Galle Face Green park.
Athletes can expect the temperature to reach about 27 C (80 F) at that time of year in the South Asian city. In addition to the individual category there will also be a relay division at the race. The age-group only race will offer 30 qualifying slots to the 2018 Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Nelson Mandela Bay.
