After a stellar couple of years that includes two Ironman world titles, a course record in Kona, two Ironman 70.3 world titles and a virtually unbeaten record, it comes as no surprise that Daniela Ryf continues to sign some major sponsors. She'll now be wearing 2XU gear for the next three years.
Ryf will wear her new 2XU kit when she races at the Ironman African Championship in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa on April 2. She'll be wearing the company's compression and triathlon clothing, cycle kit and wetsuits.
After becoming the second-fastest women ever over the full-distance at Challenge Roth last year, Ryf went on to break the course record at the Ironman World Championship. In 2011 Chrissie Wellington set the fastest women's time ever for an Ironman event in South Africa, going 8:33:56.The only faster women's times over the full-distance have been set at Challenge Roth. Ryf plans to go after Wellington's record in Roth in July - is she also hoping to best the official Ironman time, too?
