Take cover, folks, another of the super-moms is getting ready to return to racing. Gina Crawford has announced that she’ll be working her way towards Challenge Wanaka next February after the birth of baby Wilbur four months ago.

Crawford is a multiple Wanaka champ and took Ironman New Zealand in 2009. She’s won 13 times over the full distance during her illustrious career. She’ll be balancing her competitive career with being a mom, but she’s also recently starting a coaching business. Last year she also returned to playing violin in the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra after moving back to the South Island city after having moved awa.

(I think the super-mom moniker is a safe one.)

This year’s Challenge Wanaka Half serves as the New Zealand National Championship and a qualifier for the ITU World Championships.
