As he is wont to do, American TJ Tollakson ripped through the bike at Ironman 70.3 Cartagena, but couldn't hold off countryman Kevin Collington and Germany's Horst Reichel on the run and had to settle with third. Collington ended up getting to the line just over a minute ahead of Reichel.

The women's race came down to the run as Columbia's own Diana Castillo and American Kelsey Withrow swam and biked almost identical times. Castillo pulled away on the run to take the title. Venezuela's Susanna Guillen rounded out the podium.
