Charles and Don to mentor and coach Specialized Zwift Academy Triathlon Team

Zwift and Specialized have partnered to support an amateur triathlon team - the Specialized Zwift Academy Triathlon Team that will receive equipment and coaching and mentoring support from professionals Tim Don and Lucy Charles.

Four athletes with visions of the top of the podium will be picked for the Specialized Zwift Academy Triathlon Team (registration remains open until March 18), who will benefit from "the best support package of any amateur team in triathlon," including the use of smart trainers and treadmills, wind tunnel testing and Retul fitting. The athletes will also get a full S-Works package including:

  • Specialized S-Works Shiv
  • Specialized  S-Works 7 Road shoes
  • Specialized  S-Works Evade Helmet
  • Specialized Race Apparel

In addition to the high-end equipment, he athletes will also receive coaching from a team led by Tim Don, who set a new Ironman world record in winning Ironman Brazil last year. Athletes will also receive mentoring from last year's Kona runner-up, Lucy Charles.

Zwift will also cover associated expenses for the team including a US$1,500 contribution towards a qualifying event and entry fees, flight and accommodation for the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii.
