We'll have to wait a few years to find out if the Super League Triathlon dramatically changes the sport as we know it. Whether it does or not, it certainly provided some unique entertainment as 24 of the sport's best faced off in the unique Triple Mix race that began the three days of racing.
Three different stages made up the Triple Mix: Stage 1 was swim-bike-run, Stage 2 run-bike-swim and Stage 3 bike-swim-run. There was just 10 minutes between each stage, with the recovery clock starting as soon as the first finisher crossed the line.
In the end Richard Murray took the day after finishing Stage 1 in third place and winning the final stage comfortably to post the fastest combined time for all three stages.
Now we look forward to two more days of action, but not before enjoying Delly Carr's great shot of the start.
