Last October 8 Australian Damien Collins ripped through the bike course at the Ironman World Championship on his aero Ventum bike in 4:48:57. He would eventually finish 13th in the men's 25-29 age group in 9:27:08. Collins had to pull out of the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Mooloolaba after suffering an unfortunate accident during a pre-race swim and hurting his shoulder. Despite that he was still able to make it to the start line in Kona.

"Consider[ing] the struggle I had making the start line with 5 weeks off swimming and 2 months off running, I'm really happy with my race," he posted on Facebook. "I just wanted to enjoy myself out there today knowing I wasn't in peak shape. I had an absolute ball!!"
