In just his second full-distance race, Patrick Lange finished third in Kona last year, setting a new run course record. He's working hard to continue to improve.

His first full-distance race (albeit one with a shortened bike ride) saw him win the Ironman North American Championship. His second featured the fastest marathon ever run in Kona (2:39:45), breaking Mark Allen's long-standing course record, and a spot on the all-German podium.
(The ever-polite Lange apologized to Allen after he crossed the line for breaking his record.)
Lange is training in Lanzarote, Spain at the moment at Club La Santa. In this video Lange talks about his new team (Team Erdinger Alkoholfrei), his record-setting marathon, working with his coach Faris Al Sultan and more.
