There was no touching Lucy Charles at Challenge Lisboa this weekend. The former British national team open water swimmer averaged 1:13/ 100 m on the swim, finishing the 1.9 km in 22:51. She then averaged just a hair under 40 km/ hour on the bike and finished the day off with a 1:25:07 marathon to finish in 4:07:24, over six minutes ahead of Portugal's Vanessa Fernandes.

A few weeks ago, at Challenge Gran Canaria, Charles finished a close second to Emma Pallant. This weekend there was no sprint to the line as Charles dominated from start to finish.

Charles is off to Ironman Lanzarote in a couple of weeks, returning to the site of her first pro triathlon, where she finished third. She will certainly arrive on the Canary Island as one of the pre-race favorites based on her current form.

In the men's race Portugal's own Joao Pereira finished in 3:41:23, ahead of Australia's Christian Kemp.
