The fastest official Ironman in history, Lionel Sanders, has signed a two year deal with bike sponsor Garneau.

He is one of the hottest athletes on the Ironman 70.3 circuit. He holds the fastest time ever at an Ironman race thanks to his 7:44:29 winning time at Ironman Arizona last year.
Lionel Sanders is both a big name in the triathlon world and also a speedy cyclist, which is all good news for Canadian bike and clothing company Garneau, who has re-signed the Canadian star for the next two years.
Sanders will wear Garneau apparel, shoes and helmets and continue to ride the Garneau Gennix TR1 bike.
“I always say that there are no limits as to what we can accomplish, and the entire Garneau team shares the same philosophy. It stands to reason that we should continue our journey together,” Sanders said in a release. “These people were the first to give me a chance as a new pro and I will forever be grateful. With this new partnership, I’m on familiar territory, I am confident. You don’t change a winning formula, and it bodes well for the next two seasons!”
This weekend Sanders is hoping to defend his Ironman 70.3 Oceanside title, taking on the 2014 and 2015 champion and defending Ironman world champion Jan Frodeno.
