What a year. A win at the first leg of the triple crown at Ironman 70.3 Bahrain. Then, despite just getting over a calf injury, a runner-up finish at Ironman Lanzarote. Then the fireworks really began:

7:35:39. To finish 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and a 42.2 km marathon.

Then, in October, a successful defense of his Ironman world championship title, leading a German sweep of the podium and managing to hold off a very determined Sebastian Kienle.

Is all that enough to earn Jan Frodeno the nod as our male triathlete of the year in our TriathlonWorld.com awards? You decide.

Tell us who you think are the athletes of the year, what the best races were in 2016 and what brands lead the way when it came to your favorite triathlon gear. Those who fill out the survey have the chance to win a set of DT Swiss RRC 65 Dicut wheels!
