Daniela Ryf's return to racing put her back on top of the podium at one of her favorite races - Ironman 70.3 Switzerland. The two-time Ironman world champion from Switzerland is recovering from a back injury, but had seemingly little problem taking the women's title over countrywomen Emma Bilham and Nina Derron.

Derron came out of the water one second behind Ryf and would ride over two minutes faster to lead into T2, but Ryf's 1:25:06 run split was more than enough to get her the win. Billham would also pass Derron to take second.

In the men's race Ruedi Wild (SUI) trailed Manuel Kueng and Sven Riederer by 40 seconds out of the water with James Cunnama (RSA) just two seconds behind. Wild was almost two minutes quicker than the South African on the bike and was able to hang on for the win by just over a minute. Riederer would hang on for third.
