After defending his title at the Laguna Phuket Triathlon, Michael Raelert hopes to make it two for two at Ironman 70.3 Thailand in Phuket, while Amelia Watkinson hopes to do the same.

"I am in a good shape," Raelert says. "The pro field is strong, but I am well prepared and I feel ready to hit the gas on Sunday."

In addition to world champion Tim Reed, Raelert takes on some speedy 70.3 specialists including Aussies Tim van Berkel, Matt Burton and Eric Watson, France's Antony Costes, Brits Stuart Hayes and Ritchie Nicholls as well as Switzerland's Jan van Berkel from Switzerland, Sweden's Fredrik Croneborg and Italy's Alberto Casadei and Massimo Cigana.

Australian Dimity Lee Duke heads up the women's field, fresh off a 17th place finish in Kona last month, but the hot hand in the field is Kiwi Watkinson, who took the Laguna Phuket title last weekend. Other women in the field to keep an eye on include Martina Dogana (ITA) and England's Lucy Charles, a former national team open water swimmer who is likely to lead the way out of the water.
