Lange signs with Swiss Side

Patrick Lange, last year's third place finisher at the Ironman World Championship and Kona marathon record holder, has joined the Swiss Side Pro Team.

Germany's Patrick Lange is certainly lining his support team up for a concerted go at the Ironman world title in October. Lange recently signed with the Erdinger Alkoholfrei Team and today we learned that the he has also joined the Swiss Side Pro Team. Other members of the Swiss Side squad include Andreas and Michael Raelert.

“I want to ride the fastest possible products,” says Lange, “Swiss Side lives that passion. Wheels developed by Formula 1 racing engineers are the top-notch in the aero segment. Swiss Side products complement my setup and I’m confident I’ll be riding the best wheels out there.“

A former German duathlon champion, Lange, who is coached by 2005 Ironman world champion Faris Al Sultan, won his first long-distance effort at the Ironman North American Championship in Texas last year, then followed that up with his stellar performance in Kona, where is 2:39:45 marathon split eclipsed the course record previously held by Ironman legend Mark Allen.

Swiss Side will supply Lange with their Hadron Ultimate wheels and "optimize his aerodynamics on the bike."
