Ironman has added yet another full-distance race to the Asia-Pacific calendar for 2018: Ironman Phillippines will take place in Subic Bay on June 3, 2018.

The "special edition" event will take place for one year only. It is organized by the same company that puts on Ironman 70.3 Subic Bay, Sunshine Events. The first Ironman 70.3 event in the Phillippines (also organized by Sunshine Events) took place in Camarines Sur in 2009.

The day will begin with a one-loop swim in Triboa Bay, starting and finishing at ACEA Resort. The flat, fast two-loop bike heads out of the city on an expressway and returns to Remy Field in downtown Subic Bay. The two-loop run follows the coast, offering some spectacular views along the way.

Ironman Philippines will offer a US$25,000 professional prize purse (P-2000) and 30 age-group qualifying slots for the 2018 Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i.
