Ironman acquires two MTB events in Australia

Ironman has taken over the Western Australia's Cape to Cape MTB stage race, along with the Port to Port MTB event in Newcastle.

Ironman continues its expansion announcements today with the news that it has acquired two of Australia's largest mountain bike stage races.

The Cape to Cape MTB takes place in October in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. More than 2,000 people are expected to take part in this year's 10th running of the event which started in 2008. The Port to Port race takes place at the end of May in the Nelson Bay Marina, Hunger Valley and Newcastle regions of New South Wales.

Both events were sold to Ironman by the organizers Zubini Marketing and Management. Ironman's MTB events now include three races in Australia - the two events announced today and the RRR Mountain Bike Challenge in Cairns, the Motatapu and multiple stage Pioneer races in New Zealand and Cape Epic in South Africa.
