After starting in triathlon in 1995, 37-year-old Alessandro Degaspari quickly excelled, representing Italy from 1996 to 2006 at numerous European and world championships. In 2007 he would move to long distance racing, enjoying a number of top podium finishes including the win at Ironman Lanzarote in 2015.

We caught up with Degasperi just before his runner up finish last weekend in Lanzarote, capturing this shot of him with some of the equipment he races with.
